There are a number of approaches to getting your pages listed / noticed:
- Do nothing - sounds odd, but most search engines will eventually pick up the fact that you are there and you will go up the ‘rankings’ as more people also link to you from other sites. Not really advisable though.
- Self-submit to major engines - Visit various pages on google, yahoo, MSN dmoz (open directory project) and others. A good starting point is the ‘Submit page’ column of the chart at http://www.pandia.com/optimization/submit-site.html
- Use a bulk submission service such as www.ineedhits.com starts as low as $1.87 though a more expensive version with a human being involved to see that it makes sense may be worth paying for -

- Go the whole hog and employ an SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) company. Generally quite expensive and may not be worth the additional costs involved unless you have a very specific brief that they can meet.
It is worth self-submitting to Yahoo and dmoz as well as Google and msn as a minimum.
