Historyworld Timeline Search Widget

Diditon and HistoryWorld in partnership with Arc Software have developed a timeline widget for you to use on your own website, social networking site, or home page. The Historyworld Timeline widget is a powerful yet easy to use chronological search tool linking events to a range of image and text results.

The widget is available in generic form and on timeline pages on www.historyworld.net. The generic widget you see here shows two random events each time the page is refreshed, and allows you to search for a timeline based on events or names you enter. On timeline pages it is possible to grab code which sets the initial widget display to a specific timeline, which your site users can then navigate and change as they like. However, it will always start out by showing the timeline you have selected.

Historyworld was founded by Bamber Gascoigne. Bamber is actively extending the events used to underpin the timeline widget. It is also Bamber who hand-crafts the pre-compiled searches available from each event which provide an invaluable time-saver when searching for content online.

Do try out the widget on this page and visit Historyworld if you would like to put it on your site.
